1. The Gates

The Walled City of Lahore is surrounded by a 30 feet brick wall. It had 13 points of entry-exit, known as the Gates of Lahore. Today, 6 gates of Lahore still exist, but other 7 of them were completely demolished. Natural disasters and human carelessness contributed to their demise. But the government is recovering as much as they can because this is where history was created.

The walls enclose colorful Bazaars for the residents and visitors. The popular markets include Akbari Mandi, Shekhupuriyan Bazar and Kesara Bazar. The area is congested, but so much business takes place there. You can buy anything including clothes, handmade crafts, home essentials, grocery etc. The Walled City of Lahore never goes to sleep.

3. The Havelis

One of the most attractive features of the Walled City is the wondrous construct of classic Havelis. The spacious mansions with courtyards and that impressive woodwork in addition to the antique style red bricks. Each and every feature adds up to the glory. Few of those Havelis are well kept either by the private owners or under government supervision. Some of the preserved Havelis include Mubarak Haveli, Choona Mandi Haveli, Nisar Haveli, Haveli of Dhyan Singh, Haveli of Deena Nath, Barood Khana Haveli.

Androon Lahore is loaded with culture thus abundant in Arts. The classical music thrives in here. The classical dance performances and Qawwalis are mystifyingly blended in. Handmade crafts depicting our heritage are also very available thus promoting and reviving the proud history of our nation.

The undeniably marvelous collection of Mosques and Monuments, including Badshahi Mosque, Wazir Khan Mosque, Begum Shahi Mosque, Sunehri Mosque, along with the landmarks of other religions like Gurdwara Dera Sahib, Janam Asthan Guru Ram das etc. Everyone wonders how much can these narrow streets absorbed from different cultures and eras.
