Abdur Rehman Palwa is a cyclist you can’t beat when it comes to determination! This young Pakistani is on his way to set a new Guinness world record. How? Palwa’s aim is to travel all over Pakistan in 100 days and he has already begun his journey! He already has been awarded a certificate of excellence by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Gilgit while his Facebook page ‘Palwa down the road‘ has garnered quite some fan following.
A graduate from Government College University, 29-year-old Palwa is passionate about cycling and is making Pakistanis proud by following his passion. His dream is to beat a current world record made by Santosh Holi, an Indian cyclist.
What drives Palwa? Sheer motivation, determination, and faith in himself. He started his journey from Chillum and made his way into Deosai and late Shandur top. According to him, crossing Deosai plains on a bicycle was a difficult challenge but his self-determination kept him going. His goal is to travel 16,000 kilometers in 100 days on a bicycle! You may think it’s impossible but Palwa is on his way to prove you wrong. He has already covered KPK and Baluchistan while Punjab and Sindh are on his list.
Even though Palwa faced security concerns and risks on his journey, he met many people, including a foreign cyclist who motivated and supported his mission. Palwa’s first attempt to break a world record was through traveling on a motorbike but he was unable to complete that challenge. But this only motivated him to get up and try again. Palwa’s journey is promoting harmony and is a living inspiration for Pakistanis! All the best to him!
